Cart Specific DRM Implementation

In general enabling DRM at the shopping cart is a simple matter of consuming and utilizing webservices from Reshare. For the channel partner selector you will need to build an interface to display the returned array from the webservice that will allow the customer to select their chosen channel partner.

Reshare's Distribution Relationship Management (DRM) application is run from a Java Server and utilizes a SQL back-end. This sophisticated system is used to integrate a brand's channel into online sales (often the only way a brand can sell online). It is a critical peice of our customer's online sales strategy and because it not only keeps the channel happily involved but also tracks vital transaction information used in remuneration to the channel its function and accuracy are of vital importance.

To include the channel in online sales DRM provides dealer selection data via simple webservice to the cart. Dealer selection is often based on postal code. The cart presents the list of select dealers from DRM to the customer (usually 5 or 10) during checkout and allows the customer to choose one to associate their purchase with. The cart stores the selected dealer's DRM ID with the customer's line item purchases. After transactions are confirmed (often after shipping) the cart consumes a webservice to insert line item detail in DRM.

DRM takes line item inserts and using its remuneration schema, properly ascribes profit share to the appropriate channel partners. These channel partners can securely log into the DRM application at any time to view their sales, export general ledgers, control downlines and more.

It all starts with a couple of simple webservice calls.

Examples of DRM enabled carts:

Carts that use DRM come from a variety code bases including PHP, .NET, JAVA, Flash, WebSphere and ERP based carts. All these carts consume our webservices and provide dealer selection. Here are some examples from a variety of code sources:

Sligh
Sligh.com uses a .NET back-end on a Flash based website

Natura
Naturaworld.com uses a simple .NET cart.

Team Fast
Teamfast.com uses PHP and MySQL

Howard Miller
HowardMiller.com uses IBM WebSphere
